About The Sockdolager
The Sockdolager is a tiny publisher of short genre fiction on the internet.
It was founded by Paul Starr in 2012, and from 2012-2014 published three themed anthologies of short fiction contributed by a list of authors chosen by the rigorous twin criteria of possessing an email address known to the editor and a willingness to write a short story for fifty bucks.
In 2015 The Sockdolager began publishing stories quarterly, which it did through 2017. This run of issues was co-edited by Paul Starr and Alison Wilgus.
The present site archives every work of fiction published in both phases of the enterprise's existence. The Sockdolager has now entered a period of dormancy—though whether this is torpor, hibernation, or metamorphosis, who can say?
Its current steward may be reached on twitter and via email.
